With the increasing supply of internet-based voice application usage and the ongoing decline of traditional voice communications, it is not surprising that Europe, between the years 2011 and 2019f*, saw an increase in mobile voice traffic and a decrease in fixed voice traffic. For example, in 2011 the mobile voice traffic in Europe was *** million minutes and in 2018 the mobile voice traffic increased to million minutes with a 2019 forecast of million minutes. Whereas, the fixed voice traffic cut more than half of its minutes with a progression from *** to *** million minutes in 2011 to 2018. However, this does not necessarily mean that there is an overall decrease in voice communication, but rather a transition of voice traffic to other mobile platforms that use data and internet.
