China is the largest mine producer of graphite across the globe. In 2025, the East Asian country accounted for some 77.8 percent of the world's total graphite production. This was followed by Madagascar – but by a wide margin – making up an additional 4.4 percent of global production of natural graphite that year. Madagascar's graphite mine production decreased in 2025.
