Portugal's international tourism experienced in 2022 an almost complete recovery from the COVID-19 impact as the number of international overnight visitors per month show. In August 2022 – the most touristic month for the European country –, accommodation establishments in Portugal welcomed **** million foreign guests, which was almost the same amount recorded in August 2019. In August 2024, the number of foreign guests was the highest recorded during the considered period, with **** million.
