BR Distribuidora is a former subsidiary of Petrobras S.A. In July 2019, Petrobras sold a further portion of their interest in BR Distribuidora, and since August 2019, BR Distribuidora is a private company. In July 2021, Petrobras concluded its divestment process from BR Distribuidora.
In August 2021, the company rebranded itself as Vibra Energia.
