Illegal wildlife trade in Central and South America is a documented practice. From January 2012 to March 2018, there were approximately *** reports of seizures involving jaguars, pumas, and ocelots in the region. Brazil was the country with the largest number of reports during that period, with ** in total. Bolivia was the second most affected country by this type of crime, with ** reports of seized wild cats or their body parts.
