The system is implemented among leading banks in Thailand, making it highly accessible for Thai users. The volume of PromptPay transactions has continued to increase throughout the examined period, signaling a preference for online cashless payments among consumers in Thailand.

Preferred payment methods in Thailand

 Recently, commercial banks and private corporations in Thailand have delved into refining digital payment services. Mobile wallet platforms and banking applications have become popular digital payment methods among Thai consumers apart from conventional cash payments. Leading commercial banks in Thailand created their bank-specific mobile banking applications and adopted PromptPay to ease the process of digital financial transactions. Additionally, leading telecommunications enterprises such as True Move have made True Money a popular mobile wallet platform that lets consumers efficiently manage their daily expenses, such as mobile phone credit, internet credit, and transportation tickets.
