In July 2024, there were ** cases of rubella reported across the European Economic Area (EEA). Rubella is an infectious disease which, while also known as 'three day measles' and sharing some symptoms with measles is caused by a different virus, but the disease can be prevented by a childhood vaccination. In the EEA, there hasn't been more than 100 cases in a single month since June 2016, and cases have generally stayed fairly low since almost **** cases were reported in March 2012.
