According to a survey in 2020, around **** thousand medical clinics in Japan were participating in community health information networks. In total, more than **** thousand medical facilities belonged to the networks during the measured time period, representing a rapid increase in the last decade from about eight thousand in 2011. The community health information network is a system in which medical information of patients can be shared within the regions. The Japanese government has promoted the system to improve comprehensive medical care offered in local areas.
