In April 2020, a survey carried out in the United Kingdom found that since the lockdown restrictions were imposed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, 28 percent of respondents aged between 18 and 24 years were engaging in a little more physical activity than usual, while a further 12 percent were doing a lot more physical activity than usual. On the other hand, 19 percent of people aged between 35 and 44 years said they are doing a lot less physical exercise than before, the highest share across all age groups.
