Argentina saw major increases in sales of antibacterial gel in the first months of 2020, as the coronavirus spread around the globe and the first fatal cases in Latin America were confirmed. For instance, during the first week of 2020, sales of alcohol-based hand sanitizers amounted to six million Argentine pesos. During the ninth week of the same year, sales rose up to 22 million Argentine pesos. The following week, the sales value reached 27 million pesos.
