In 2024, governmental expenditure on health in Chile amounted to 15.51 trillion Chilean pesos, a decrease of 0.25 trillion Chilean pesos in comparison to the previous year. Though during the period analyzed the budget allocated to the Ministry of Health in the South American country had been constantly increasing, a substantial rise followed by a decline was observed between 2019 and 2020 along with the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. During the last decade, healthcare expenditure as share of the country's GDP has also been constantly rising.
