According to a survey conducted in Indonesia in March 2020, most of the respondents that felt panicked and less panicked by the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 outbreak in Indonesia washed their hands more frequently in order to prevent them from getting the virus. Indonesia's President, Joko “Jokowi” Widodo announced the first two confirmed cases of the disease in the country on March 2, 2020. Before the announcement, Indonesia had no confirmed cases of COVID-19, raising concerns about the country’s ability to detect the virus.
