According to a survey conducted in Indonesia in February 2020, 88 percent of the respondents believed that the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 was very dangerous. Indonesia's President, Joko 鈥淛okowi鈥 Widodo announced the first two confirmed cases of the disease in the country on March 2, 2020. Before the announcement, Indonesia had no confirmed cases of COVID-19, raising concerns about the country鈥檚 ability to detect the virus.
