As of the same date, the total number of cases reported by the authorities reached almost 26.7 million. The north of the country was mostly hit, and the region with the highest number of cases was Lombardy, which registered over 4.3 million of them. The north-eastern region of Veneto and the southern region of Campania followed in the list.
