According to a survey on the dating culture among the post-1995 generation in China conducted in 2019, around ** percent of the single respondents from Shanghai stated that they wanted their future partner to earn more than 10,000 yuan a month. In the same survey, about ** percent of the respondents from Beijing shared the same view. In 2018, the average monthly salary amounted to around ** yuan in China.
