According to a survey from January 2020 regarding the ongoing workstyle reforms in Japanese companies, approximately ** percent of middle managers stated that clerical work had increased as a result of the reforms. More than ** percent stated that management duties had increased. Japan's workstyle reform legislation, which was passed in June 2018, entered its first phase in April 2019. Among other things, it aims to reduce the number of overtime hours.
