According to a survey conducted in January 2020 regarding the ongoing workstyle reforms in Japanese companies, around ** percent of surveyed middle managers stated that their company was currently limiting overtime. Another common initiative was the encouragement of paid leave with a respondent share of almost ** percent. Japan's workstyle reform legislation, which was passed in June 2018, entered its first phase in April 2019. Among other things, it aims to reduce the number of overtime hours.
