The share of French Internet users who did not trust news shared on social networks in 2021 was quite important. Indeed, 66 percent of the respondents didn't trust what was shared by their friends on social media, with 30 percent not being really trustful and 36 percent not being trustful at all. When the information came from news websites, written or audiovisual press, 47 percent showed distrust. However, 35 percent of the respondents remained rather trustful in news websites, compared to 16 percent regarding information published by friends on social media.
