In 2023, the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has set a domestic market obligation (DMO) on coal production to around million metric tons. Since the latest Ministerial Decree in the end of 2019, from 2020 on, ** percent of Indonesia's coal production has to be sold in the domestic market. By 2024, the ESDM expects to sell about metric tons of coal on the domestic market.
