In Belgium, roughly *** out of four sexually active women, aged 15 to 49 years old, used an IUD (Intrauterine contraceptive device) as a contraceptive method in 2018. From a regional perspective, the use of an IUD was higher in Flanders than in Wallonia. However, women living in the Brussels-Capital Region were the lowest users of such a contraceptive device in 2018.
