According to a December 2019 survey of registered U.S. voters, 45 percent of respondents aged 45 to 54 years stated that they felt it was a top priority for Congress to pass legislation to better protect consumers' online data in 2020. In comparison, only 28 percent of respondents aged 18 to 29 years stated the same.
