Peanuts or groundnuts accounted for nearly 354 billion Indian rupees in the Indian economy in fiscal year 2021. This variety of oilseeds contributed to over 28 percent of the sector's GVO that year. Oilseeds, overall contributed over eight percent to the GVA of crops that same year.
