In 2022, the Northwest repository of China received around cubic meters of low to mid level nuclear waste. This was the second largest of the five nuclear repositories currently operating in China, with a total volume of nuclear waste amounting of over * cubic meters. The Guangdong Beilong waste repository did not accept any nuclear waste in 2022.
