In a survey conducted in 2019 about the Australian publics' opinion on the future of coal-fired power stations in the country, ** percent of respondents who were affiliated with the Liberal political party stated that they should be phased out gradually so costs could be managed over time. In contrast, only ** percent of Liberal respondents stated that coal did not need to be replaced by other energy sources such as wind or solar power.
