To asses the understanding of "carbon neutral" and "net zero", the survey sample was split in two. Half of the respondents were asked to identify the best definition of carbon neutral from a list of five responses, and the other half were asked to identify the best definition of net zero. In addition to the five responses, both subsets were given the option to answer that they didn’t know or weren’t sure
