In 2023, more than 98,600 wildfire outbreaks were detected in the Amazon Rainforest. That makes the Amazon the Brazilian biome most affected by wildfires that year. Meanwhile, some 50,700 forest fires were identified in the Cerrado – Brazil's equivalent to a tropical savanna.
