Independence Day in Mexico is an important national holiday officially celebrated on September 16th. Festivities start the evening before, when the president of Mexico re-enacts the "Grito de Independencia", an historical event that is considered the beginning of the independence movement. According to a 2018 survey, the main media device used for watching or listening to Independence Day celebrations in the country is the television, with **** percent of respondents using the device for watching the festivities. In contrast, *** percent of the respondents claimed the radio was their device of choice during these events.
