About *** thousand people visited the Winter Comic Market (Comiket) in Japan in December 2024. The event, which focuses on self-published manga, took place at the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition center. Due to COVID-19 prevention measures, the number of visitors had to be restricted in 2021 and 2022, which led to a strong decrease in attendance compared to earlier years. While the Winter Comiket had to be cancelled in 2020, the Summer Comiket, which in earlier years had also attracted many visitors, did not take place at the venue both in 2020 and 2021. The Winter Comiket events in 2023 and 2024 were held on two days, which was shorter than in 2019, resulting in a lower number of attendees.
