Belgian respondents to a 2018 survey mentioned they will make less use of cash money in the future. Usage rates are expected to decrease from ** percent in 2018 to ** percent in 2023. Mobile payments (which includes retail sales, but also occurences on a mobile website or P2P payments) and contactless payments are believed to increase, however. SEPA transfers are also thought to increase, whereas new payment technologies are not thought to be popular in 2023.
