The rates of individual annual consumption of spirits in Russia reached a historical minimum in 1987 at roughly *** liters per person, after which consumption rates quickly escalated in the following years. The highest consumption level was reached in 1995, when Russians consumed about **** liters of pure alcohol in spirits on average. Since then, spirits intake has been decreasing, measuring at **** liters per year in 2019.
