Private sector refers to industry, construction, and services, except public administration and defense and compulsory social security (NACE Revision 2 code B-S_X_O). Public sector refers to public administration and defense and compulsory social security (NACE Revision 2 code O).
In 2012 and 2013, women working in the Hungarian public sector earned more than men. In 2022, female employees' earnings were on average **** percent lower than men's in the private sector and *** percent lower than men's in the public sector.
