Institutional investors, surveyed in 2024, were asked to note which factors they felt would have the highest impact on investment strategies in the coming two years. Political uncertainty within nations was the least considered topic among respondents, with ** percent expecting this factor to have minimal or no impact on investing. Climate change was arguably the most polarizing topic, with ** percent of respondents stating it would have minimal impact. However, a further ** percent believed it would have an acute impact. Shifts in the business cycle were the most highly rated factor, with ** percent of institutional investors having noted an expectation for acute or substantial impacts on investing.
