Prime Day, Amazon鈥檚 self-invented shopping extravaganza for Prime members, is a big success. First 鈥渃elebrated鈥 in 2015, the day quickly became one of the biggest days of the year for the world鈥檚 largest online retailer. According to , nearly 50 million Americans visited Amazon on Prime Day 2016, putting it on par with Cyber Monday, the largest online shopping day of the year that is not exclusive to Prime members.
Following last year鈥檚 Prime Day, that it was the biggest day for the company ever in terms of online sales. This year鈥檚 event will last for 30 hours, promising even more deals for customers in the U.S. and 12 other countries. Customers should compare prices before going on a shopping frenzy however. While it鈥檚 certainly possible to pick up some bargains on Prime Day, some offers can be found cheaper elsewhere.
