Bottled water market worldwide - statistics & facts
Bottled water has cemented its place as one of the most consumed beverages in the world, underpinning a large and still-growing segment of the global non-alcoholic drinks market. Revenues in the segment have risen substantially since 2018 and are projected to continue climbing through the end of the decade, driven by urbanization, health-conscious consumption trends, and expanding middle classes in emerging economies. Worldwide bottled water revenue is on track to approach the half-trillion dollar mark by 2029. Global sales volumes are also trending upward, having already crossed well into the hundreds of billions of liters. The average revenue per capita globally has similarly risen year-on-year, indicating that consumers are not only drinking more bottled water but also spending more per head.
