employed over 560,000 people in 2019, representing roughly five percent of the

With the growing influx of tourists in Morocco, the number of
hotels and accommodation services in the country has increased in recent years, reaching approximately 4,300 in 2019. Specifically, the country registered a
tourist accommodation capacity of over 280,000 beds in 2021. The
room occupancy rate in hotels and similar establishments in the North African country stood at 48 percent in 2019, while it fell to 26 percent in 2020 due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Hotel guests spent an
average of three nights in Morocco's hotel facilities.
