Air France-KLM is a Franco-Dutch airline holding company that was created in 2004 following the merger of Air France and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. Both flag carriers continue to operate as separate subsidiaries of the parent company, alongside the group’s low-cost brand, Transavia. With the French and Dutch governments as its main shareholders, the Paris-based group is one of the founding members of the SkyTeam airline alliance and ranks as the fourth-largest European airline by passenger traffic. The group’s three leading brands are Air France, KLM, and Transavia, while other subsidiaries include Air France Hop and Martinair.
