Restaurant and catering industry Netherlands - statistics & facts
The Dutch food service industry saw the out-of-home market turnover amount to 20 billion euros. The vast majority of the revenue originated from hotels, restaurants and cafes with 12.7 billion euros, whereas the catering sector generated nearly 3.5 billion euros. Observing the expenditure in the beverage service sector, consumers annually spent more on out-of-home meals and drinks. In 2015, consumer expenditure reached 1.78 billion euros, whereas by 2018 it amounted to just over two billion euros.
