Mexico's health spending is among the lowest in Latin America relative to the size of its economy. In 2025, the figure amounted to around six percent of GDP, compared to roughly 10 percent in Brazil. In absolute terms, per capita health spending in Mexico stood at approximately 876 U.S. dollars, a figure that remains comparatively low relative to most of Latin America’s largest economies.
