Chad - Statistics & Facts
Chad is a quite large landlocked country in Central Africa with a relatively small total population. The capital, N’Djamena, is the most populous city, being home to almost 1 million people.
Due to poverty being rampant across the country, with 88 percent of the population lacking improved sanitation, and approximately half of its citizens being affected by hunger and malnutrition, Chad is one of the poorest nations in the world. Furthermore, these catastrophic circumstances lead to Chad having one of the lowest life expectancies worldwide, as well as one of the highest death rates.
