Incorporated in December 1999 and listed on the Italian Stock Exchange in July 2000, CED is a holding company whose subsidiaries publish 4 out of the top 15 newspapers in Italy, commanding leadership positions both in traditional newspapers and in the free press. In 2015, the newspaper Il Messaggero registered the highest readership of Caltagirone Editore at about 1.2 million readers.
