The home appliance industry in the United States is large, larger than the most irresponsibly large fridges sold to consumers. Revenues of the U.S. home appliance market reached a record 61.7 billion U.S. dollars in 2024 and were expected to reach nearly 75 billion U.S. dollars by 2030. With market segments split down the middle, major appliances in the U.S., such as refrigerators, freezers, stoves, washing machines, and dishwashers, accounted for just over half of the U.S. home appliances market in 2024. By 2027, the U.S.'s small appliance segment, which includes food processors, toasters, and coffee makers, is expected to overtake major appliances as the largest segment in the U.S. home appliances market. Millions of household appliances are shipped in the U.S. every year, with Whirlpool as the largest appliance manufacturer based in the country.
