Both an elite sport and a relaxed pastime, table tennis is enjoyed by people all around the world. It is one of the most-followed sports in China, and despite not ranking particularly highly among the most popular sports in India, participation levels were respectable nevertheless. Meanwhile, the number of people playing table tennis in the United States has remained stable for a number of years, ping-ponging between 15 and 16 million. While table tennis does not reach the heights of tennis played on a court when it comes to finances, it is every bit its equal when it comes to skill and entertainment.
