Women’s education worldwide - statistics & facts
According to UNESCO, 122 million girls were still out of school worldwide. Moreover, as of 2023, almost one young woman out of three was neither in education, training, nor employment. This figure reached around 41.5 percent in Northern and Western Africa and 45.5 percent in Central and Southern Asia. Although girls' access to education has improved recently, there are still notable regional disparities.
