The Champions Trophy might not be the most glamorous of cricket tournaments, but it still showcases some of the best talent that the world of cricket has to offer. First played in 1998, the Champions Trophy was introduced as a way of developing the game of cricket in non-test playing countries, with the likes of Kenya, the United States, and Afghanistan all having made appearances at the Champions Trophy. In recent years, however, the quadrennial tournament has become more of a showcase event for the best teams in the world as qualification is earned by securing a spot in the top eight of the ICC Cricket World Cup.
