Inflation in Latin America - statistics & facts
Venezuela, Argentina, Suriname, and Haiti share a common trait, being ranked among the top ten most inflated countries in the world. Similarly, Latin America and the Caribbean ranked as the region with the third-highest inflation rate in the world, only behind Sub-Saharan Africa and Middle East and Central Asia. Following the recent global inflation crisis, the inflation rate increased constantly for the last four years, reaching the highest annual average since at least 1996. This goes against the global trend of the last couple of years, with inflation rates going down for the last two years.
