South Korea is reeling from the aftermath of President Yoon Suk Yeol鈥檚 unprecedented declaration of martial law on December 3, 2024 鈥 the first such move since Chun Doo-hwan鈥檚 military dictatorship 45 years ago. This declaration sparked nationwide outrage, resulting in mass protests and Yoon's impeachment by the National Assembly just two weeks later.
