Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) is a multinational biopharma company, headquartered in New York City, and among the largest big pharma companies worldwide. Based on prescription drug revenues, BMS is the world’s seventh-largest pharmaceutical company. Bristol-Myers Squibb reported total revenues of over 48 billion U.S. dollars in 2024. The company made a massive jump in revenues from 2019 to 2020 - from 26 to more than 42 billion dollars – which was driven by the acquisition of Celgene, a company specializing in immunology and oncology. This deal is still considered one of the largest M&A deals in the pharmaceutical industry ever. Through the acquisition, BMS became the owner of Revlimid, one of the world’s best-selling cancer drugs.
