Ramadan in Malaysia - statistics & facts
Brightly lit decorations of Islamic religious symbols with swathes of green and gold in most public places in Malaysia marked the most festive season for the third-largest Muslim-majority country in Southeast Asia. This year’s Ramadan, the ninth month in the Islamic lunar calendar, began on March 23nd and will end on April 21st. During this time, Muslims all over the world, including around 63.5 percent of Malaysia's population, fasted from sunrise until sundown.
