The level of awareness about the human papillomavirus (HPV) among parents in Italy increased overall between 2017 and 2022. According to a survey on the topic, in 2022, **** percent of respondents were aware that HPV was the virus responsible for cervix cancer, while **** percent knew that HPV caused different diseases of genital apparatus, both benign or malignant, but most often it remained asymptomatic. However, **** percent of parents believed that HPV could affect only women.
