The sample size for urban dwellers was 29,557, rural residents 19,023; male sample size was 23,577 while female sample size was 25,003. The data was collected on one weekday and one weekend day, where subjects were asked to record activities in 15-minute intervals.
Learning and training refer to primary, secondary, advanced education, adult technical training, adult non-degree higher education and other continuing education, as well as related homework, preparation and after-school revision activities, various short-term training (foreign language, computer, driving school, business and secretarial, etc.), participating in qualification courses, revisions for professional examinations, taking vocational examinations etc. This does not include pre-employment training and off-the-job learning for work-related units and does not include accompanying children in their learning activities.
Transportation and traffic refer to the time spent using certain modes of transportation, including walking. It includes the traffic time for, for example, going to work/school, going to a shop, hospital, airport, train station; traveling by road, plane, train, etc. This does not include transportation time while bringing children to and from school.
